Selective catalytic reduction of NOx at the high efficiency S.I. engine exhausts

Note:
We have tested different Cu-zeolite catalysts at lean burn S.I. gasoline-fuelled engine exaust, in order to verify how the activity and durability performances are affected by operation parameters such as reaction temperature, space velocity, presence of water in the exhaust. Preliminary results concerning the reactivity of the different hydrocarbons present in the exhaust are also presented.
The catalysts have been also characterized before and after catalytic tests, with different spectroscopic techniques.
Finally at thelean burn S.I. natural gas-fuelled engine exhaust, we have tested and characterized the system CoZSM5, that has shown a higher selectivity toward lean reduction with methane.
