The purpose of this article is to give a guideline on which factors have to be taken into consideration when selecting a mist elimination system.
Furthermore, as the outlet mist content is one of the most important factors, there is a description of the outlet mist measurement system called the Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer (PDPA) developed by Koch-Glitsch. The PDPA has been acknowledged as the most accurate method for measuring moisture carryover in a FGD column, and is available for testing full scale commercial FGD installations.
