The effects of a series of geometrical singularities in the duct section on the horizontal adiabatic flow of air-water mixtures in a broad range of velocities were experimentally investigated, both from the point of view of the flow structure and the pressure drops. The great coherence between the data acquired in the two fields are evidenced by some simple models, using a uniform-diameter duct as a reference case from which to calculate the differences induced by the singularities themselves.
