Mixed convenction in a horizontal channel with heated bottom wall and external heat transfer on upper wall

In this work mixed convection in a horizontal channel with the lower wall heated at uniform heat flux is studied numerically. A three dimensional problem is modeled and solved by means of the FLUENT code. Three configurations are considered:
a) lower wall non conductive and the upper wall adiabatic;
b) lower wall conductive and the upper wall adiabatic;
c) lower wall non conductive and the upper plate conductive and experiences external heat natural convection.
The analysis is carried out in transient regime in order to evaluate the thermal and fluid dynamic parameters as functions of the time. Wall temperature distributions and temperature fields in longitudinal and transversal sections are reported for different time values. Air velocity and temperature in the principal channel are presented along longitudinal sections for some time values.
