A sensitivity analysis on wind energy specific cost in Italy

Pubblicazione

Autore: G. Giambelli, M. Guilizzoni

Collana: BT - 34 - Mag 06 - Energy: production, distribution and conservation

Note:
A sensitivity analysis on the influence of a number of variables on the effective cost of installed wind power is presented. The investigated variables are the wind turbines diameter and maximum power, the wind turbines spacing in the so called “wind farms” and the parameters of the Weibull function representing the wind speed distribution for 97 Italian locations. As the scope is also to create an instrument able to do a “fast” survey of the situation in potentially interesting sites without requiring very detailed information about the wind turbine model and costs, the wind speed distribution, ….., the analysis is performed using a general calculation scheme and two simple models for the determination of wind farm efficiencies.
