This paper presents solar cooling by parabolic trough collectors and a steam jet ejector chiller. The operating behaviour of a respective system has been investigated by a small test rig. The recooling water temperature as well as the cold water
temperature has got a strong influence to the coefficient of performance of a steam jet ejector chiller. The coefficient of performance reaches high values in part loads, so that the yearly mean efficiency is clearly higher than the nominal efficiency.
Its robust construction and simple design permits a high availability of the system. Water can be used as working fluid and refrigerant.
