Note:
The paper presents the main features of the engine-vehicle simulator, based on a two inertia model and that requires a very short time for the calibration. Comparisons with experimental data are reported both for a four cylinder engine running in the test cell and for a twelve cylinder engine mounted in a vehicle and running in a test ring.
