On-going solar energy research at the Weizmann Institute includes the development of innovative concentration optics, solar receivers for the production of electricity solar reactors for methane reforming and metal oxides reduction, and several other processes. The research is aimed at developing methods that would enable solar energy to become a major contributor to the global energy needs.
Presently some of the solar devices developed at Weizmann have key roles in several industry-led, international collaboration to develop a cost effective systems for solar electricity production and material processing
