Note:
The introduction of a requirement for independent control systems for energy performance certificates in the recast of EPBD aims at the improvement of the quality of EPCs and a more effective implementation of the directive.
Many MS have already established an EPC-database. The information collected in these databases, is being used in policy development, improvement of energy performance certification itself and in research generally. Correlations and combinations with other statistical sources can greatly enhance analysis at the building stock level. Installing an independnet database needs the application of new technologies.
