The workshop in Beijing was an excellent opportunity for international information exchange in addition to Concerted Action EPBD. China is right at the beginning to promote energy efficiency in their buildings and the Chinese construction sector has an enormous potential: Every second building constructed in the world is built in China. Therefore, they really have to take the chance now, to create sustainable buildings for the future. European Member States and the EU-China Trade Project can support by helping with best-practise examples. China is in the privileged situation to be able to choose the best approaches of all advanced Member States. And - having a look at the Chinese Certificate with its continuous scale label - they obviously did so.
