Actually, the totally mecanised european agriculture and forestry is totally oil dependent. Despite oil peak and forecastly soon shortage, the last oil reserves should be spared for petro-chemistry use. To ensure food production , decentralized bio-fuel production is needed. Earlier 10 to 15% of the agriculture land use was destinated for horses feeding. Today, it could be acceptable to dedicate 10% of the surfaces for bio-fuel production only for agricultural use. Thus there will be no concurrence between food and energy production, but a complemtarity. The more important is the final use of the bio-fuel in term of sustainability. With actual technology it should be possible to insure the oil independence of primary activities (agriculture and forestry).
