Spray atomisation characteristics are presented, for an industrial fuel oil and a 2MW atomizer, over pressure range from 7 to 15 bar. The results achieved, based upon phase Doppler anemometry measurements employing two scattered light collection angles, show significant variations in both the individual doplet histograms and the Sauter mean diameters.
