Note:
This paper deals with the evaluation of the theoretical works on the stability available in literature and the comparison of different analytical models. Experimental results, obtained for a rectangular circulation loop with heat sink on the top and heat source on the bottom, are then analyzed with the support of a stability map obtained by P. Vijayan and H. Austregesilo.
The objective of the reported activity is, other than an outline of the state-of-the-art, the characterization of the main parameters influencing the stability phenomena, optimizing these for the design of a new natural circulation loop.
