The effect of EGR in a turbocharged spark-ignition engine

Note:
In this paper, using numerical simulation, the influence of EGR on the performance of a turbocharged spark-ignition engine has been evaluated. A one-dimensional model of the engine under study has been realized. The realized model has been validated by comparing the obtained results to the experimental data relative to the engine
operation in absence of exhaust recycle. Once a satisfactory precision level has been reached, the model has been utilized in order to compute the optimal values of main engine control parameters in the case of EGR operation.
