A new apparatus based on holographic interferometry has been developed to measure temperatures of transparent media submited to thermal shocks. The concept of this device is described, as well as the way the interferograms are handled. Its performances have been evaluated and the first outcomes we have obtained are presented. The interferometer has proved to be particularly easy to use and not affected by external disturbances.
