Collana: CA - 49 - Perugia 1994
Note:
This work deals with the determination of the temperature distribution in a hollow circular cylinder of an infinite length heated on the outer surface by a partial arc heat source. Two cases are examined: a) a fixed arc heat source with constant intensity and b) a rotating arc heat source with constant angular velocity. The analysis is performed using the heat conduction equation and the "Integral Transform Technique". The procedure leads to the solution of a twodimensional boundary value problem of heat conduction which is solved explicitly and the temperature distribution is taken in a quite simple analytical form of series expansion under a transient state.
